Conductor de OrchestraAAAAGH by Suilenroc Conductor de OrchestraAAAAGH by Suilenroc
Every serious musical performance needs a proper Conductor to get the best from the musicians. Especially those in this Asylum.

The Conductor of our Halloween OrchestraAAAGH poses this question of his audience "Is there music in your blood?" then proceeds to find out with energy, vigour and a stout stick ;)

My entry to the DAA competition "Sinister Halloween Sounds".

Done in Painter 9 in 2 hours.

I'd forgotten I'd done this one. It might have been the work of another of my personalities but it's hard to keep track as the previous Lead Personality lost the keys to the memory vault during in a minor conciousness riot a few days ago! ;)

I'm trying to remember where I saw a character like this before. It was out of a comic book. I want to say Shadow Man, or Silent Hill: The Grinning Man. I dont remember though. But this is great. I like everything about it including the monochromatic colours. Great job :D

Thanks for the comment. :)

This work certainly has a comic book feel - but it's not based on either of the characters you mentioned. What comics were they in? Must be fairly recent as I stopped my comic collecting days about 11 years ago (mainly Marvel - Xmen etc) so I'm pretty much out of touch. I still love the comic art form, bold line, vibrant colours, action movement - all excellent tools in the mind of a artist of whatever genre.

Comic creation is a beautiful thing. There is no flaw in the art of creating it. Np, loved this piece.

Cheers mate.

Now if you imagine carefully there is a whole audience in the backgound, each with at least two nipples each, and there may be female guide dogs as well (that'll up the count)! Quanititty not qualititty!

I think I need my meds!

Need to spend some "full view" time there later.

Yup. 2 hours from putting pen to tablet (mad hair first) to posting on DA.

However I admit I did think a bit beforehand (45 mins on the way home from work). I had a mad vision of a diaorama covering a twisted orchestra, violent violins, debassed bass and human kettle drums and other flights of fantasy. But instead I settled on the Conductor (hooray no instruments to draw) and a energetic pose. Not sure if that counts?

I think my Conductor could make any All Hallows party swing Big Time! ;)

Made me think of an evil Mask..
Got here once, looked at it, it gave me the creeps, some shivers going down my spine and I didn't know if I should fave it or not.. it called me back though.. I feel.. hypnotized ( or whatever that word is.. )

The Mask - one of the few films with Jim Carrey in I like! I can see the resemblance.

Think of the Conductor as a madman making an futile attempt to control other madmen posing as musicians, and getting totally carried away in the enjoyment of being centre stage! No wonder he grins! ;)

Thanks for the comment and good wishes!

At risk of repeating myself, and by the power of cut'n'paste. Here is my earlier response to the Eddie resemblance - (my apologies to those who read it earlier :)):

The resemblance to the georgous Eddie is entirely accidental (or subconcious) I assure you.
No really!. Anyone with a huge grin, no nose and wild hair could be mistaken for Iron Maiden's mascot.

I have it on good authority that Eddie's not that keen on the Classic's but does occassionally rock out to a bit of Stockhausen! :headbang:

Cheers
