GreedNTemperants by Suilenroc GreedNTemperants by Suilenroc
We made a foolish promise to ^FallenRox agreeing to produce a wallpaper on the subject of Greed and Temperance - so here is a little demonic outporing trying to represent these two strange concepts in visual form.

Greed We understand  but temperance

We are immoderation in all things - more excess please! :boogie:

I've been away from DA for 6 months, but when I logged in today and saw that I had 120 new deviations on my list - and this was one of them, I remembered why I loved DA so much! Just awesome!!:D

Thanks for the comment Dr T, appreciate your opinion.

We just don't seem to have the same deadication to detail as your own twistid works show. To prove the point here is a link [link] - showing the original sketch for the main figues in this piece. As you will see - even Our sketches are imprecise! :D

Impressive! This actually looks like part traditional art. (Is it..?) Great smokey effects, and I believe I detect a slight texture if I'm not mistaken. Wonderful work, my darling.

Thanks MM

This was entirely digital - remember that graphics tablet gathering dust in the corner of your room? - well We used one like it for this - took about 1.5 hours in all!

We're not sure what a "texture" is but We did use a couple of Adobe CS photo filters in immoderation to add "complexity" and colour. If that counts as a texture then - yes We probably did!

No dust. I've actualy used it quite a bit lately. I'm starting to get used to it, and to love it! :D

By texture I mean the effect that is particulary visible on the table, on the bottom left corner. :) How did you do that?

Glad to hear you are getting to grips with the tablet! :)

The "texture" effect is actually the Corel Painter brush called "Nervous Pen" which We used to draft the original line work for both figures and scenery - it has a pleasing randomness and imprecision that appeals to Our somewhat chaotic style. We are precisely imprecise! :D

Nervous pen.

The randomness sure do suit you.;) And what words of wisdom you tell; "precisely imprecise". I love that. :D

Holy moley! This is really trippy. It's like a dream scene or something. Kind of a piratey sort of feel, deep down in the belly of a boat. VERY impressive and I'm glad it made you stretch your mind a bit. Struggling can produce great results.... obviously. Thanks for entering!
