Turbulant humans awash,
their feelings afloat
on the Sea,
the wreckage of logic.
Funny - there is no surreal category in the Wallpaper gallery.
Obey the Sea by *Suilenroc
A design with hidden elements that you don't see at first glance, but it's well worth the full view to find them. Very unique style with an array of pleasing colors, this artist's gallery is full of flavor. (
Good point about the WP categories - why not drop ^FallenRox , one of the WP gallery directors a line - you never know what might change if you ask.
In the meantime - and because you asked. This image was created entirely digitally - using Corel Painter 9 software - some layers - a Wacom tablet and pen plus a small amount of skill and imagination. Hope that helps!
"surreal was a category for a while and hardly anything was ever posted in it. In fact, you find very few pieces in the entire wallpaper gallery that would fit that theme. *Suilenroc is quite the exception.
We are planning to encourage other art categories including surreal artists to submit their work into the WP gallery though and if the numbers grow, we will likely re add the category. Also, even if the surreal category existed now, if the artist doesn't list what or how he or she made the piece, you still wouldn't really know anyway...
If I were better at surreal work, I'd join you, really. I really admire abstract artists because it's a category that I have this obscene amount of trouble with. You know how the whole wishing thing goes-- you can't do it, so you love the people who can...
Thanks - perhaps this is an oblique reference to the Clive Barker "Dream Sea" - where We have three visits - on being born, making love to your true love and finally returning death. Can't remember which book or series of CB books this featured in though.
